Cancer Research

In this project supported by the Medical and Life Sciences Research Fund, Warwick Chemistry PhD student Mingchao Li aims to develop a special kind of treatment called a polymeric nanovaccine to fight head and neck cancer.

Dr. Rajendrakumar is an early career researcher in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Warwick. He is an expert in the field of nano-immune-engineering, in which he has developed nanomaterials to activate, program and reinstate optimal immune system function in cancer and inflammation. The Medical and Life Sciences Research Fund are very pleased to support Dr. Rajendrakumar in his research.

Understanding the mechanism of cancer spreading to improve our treatment and therapeutics in cancer medicine.

Dr James Jarrold of University of Warwick is using Medical and Life Sciences Research funding to learn more about how the circadian clock is linked to cell survival and other aspects of breast cancer.

The fastest rising cause of cancer in the UK is liver cancer. The Medical and Life Sciences Research Fund is supporting a large study with the aim to crucially enable liver cancer to be detected earlier.

The aim of this Medical and Life Sciences funded research is to determine whether it is possible to detect pancreatic cancer at an early stage from a CT scan using imaging and deep learning tools.
